Cartoon Cigarette Pins
These humorous pins were a series of pinback buttons given away with packs of
cigarettes in the 1910s through the 1930s. Cartoonists of the day who drew weekly comics
were commissioned by the cigarette companies to create art for these lapel pins. These
cigarette pinback buttons featured full-color art on celluloid with the artist's name
imprinted on the front, though the earliest pins werein black-and-white only.
Collectors of tobacciana and of Sunday funnies artwork both find these small
collectibles of interest.
