Cigarette Pins of Major League Baseball Players

A series of baseball pins were made by the American Tobacco Company and distributed free as premiums with cigarette packs  between 1910 and 1912.

The sepia-colored pins were 15/16" in diameter and featured 152 different major league ball players. But with variations in lettering, collectors have found 204 distinct pins in circulation.

These are highly prized by baseball collectors. Pins of the more desirable players (such as Ty Cobb) can run be valued at $200 and higher, with the lesser pins selling for $15 to $25 each.

Players pictured in the series included:

Ty Cobb - Detroit Tigers
Larry Doyle - New York Giants
Hooks Wiltse - New York Giants
